If you have subscribed to Arlo Secure, Secure Plus, or Smart plans, you can use this feature to stay updated at all times. Detection options using myarlo login page
You can always activate a combination of motion detection features either using the Arlo app or by logging in to the myarlo setup wizard using the my.arlo.com web address. Here are some options you can select from:
Person Detection
Arlo cameras let you receive real-time alerts whenever someone approaches your home. With the person detection feature, you can search the recording library for videos containing people easily.
Package Detection
Ensuring the security of your packages after they’ve been delivered is the biggest challenge. However, the package detection feature alleviates the pain out of doing that. Hereby, your Arlo camera will send you rich notifications whenever it sees someone delivering or picking up the package. Packages as small as a shoebox are detected easily.
Animal and Vehicle Detection
The vehicle detection feature on your Arlo camera helps detect cars, trucks, buses, motorcycles, bicycles, etc., and sends you notifications whenever they are detected. If the camera sees an animal in the path of its view, it sends you the notification again.
Alarm Detection
This safety feature can help you safeguard your home and take timely action in case of a fire breaking out. The Alarm detection feature alerts you whenever the smoke/CO alarm at your home goes out. Therefore, for the period of the alarm ringing, the Arlo camera will record video footage as well.
Advanced Motion Alerts Settings using myarlo login page
When motion detection is enabled, you can choose the type of motion you wish to be notified about using the settings menu. Here are some steps you can follow:
- Launch the myArlo app and log in to your Arlo account using the my.arlo.com web address.
- Tap or click on the Settings button.
- Once logged in, navigate to the Arlo Smart or Arlo Secure section and tap on the Smart Notifications button.
- Here, select a camera that you wish to receive Arlo notifications for.
- Again, tap on the slider buttons next to the following to choose the type of motion you wish to receive notifications about:
- People
- Vehicles
- Animal
- Smoke/CO Alarm
- All Motion
- From under the Alert options, specify if you would like to receive video previews in the motion alerts or not.
If you’re looking to activate package detection, open the Arlo app and go to the Settings menu. Here, select Package Detection. Now, on the Manage Package Detection screen, choose which camera you wish to activate for the function.
Viewing Motion Alerts using the myarlo app
Whenever the camera captures motion, the user receives a push notification on their device along with a thumbnail image of the video. Once the video recording is over, a second push notification replaces the first one.
